Cute and sweet stickers for priority seats

Recently, you can find these cute and sweet stickers pasted on the MRT walls behind the priority seats.

Stickers in pink and yellow features pregnant women and parents with kids respectively.

We have started noticing these stickers when we board an almost empty train. It also means that if the train is packed or if someone is seating on the priority seats, public would not be able to see these stickers. What a waste! Nevertheless, we still have big blue and white stickers high up on the walls to remind the public to be gracious and give up their seats to those in need; i.e. elderly, pregnant women and parents carrying kids.

Two issues that we have noticed :

  1. People on the other seats expect the one who doesn’t fit the priority seats categories and have seated in the priority seat to give up their seats.
  2. No one gave up seats to fathers who are carrying their baby but some will offer the seats to the mothers with the baby.

Weird????? Maybe, we need to fine tune our thinking, isn’t it? Whether which seat you are seating, it’s a virtue to give it up to someone really in need and not wait for others to take the first step. Why wait? What are people waiting for? Isn’t Daddy humans too. Don’t they need a seat too no matter how strong they are!!! It’s not a matter of the weight of the baby. It’s for safety reasons. What if the train jerks? Does the father, elderly and pregnant women be spared of being jerked?

We hope to see more kindness around. If you are a kind person, don’t be shy and show your initiative. If you are not, that’s really sad. We shall not comment further.
